Neurology Service

UFSC University Hospital’s Neurology Service provides a well-structured and qualified service, with a medical residency program and a master’s program in neuroscience and medical sciences, both created in 1994, and a doctoral program established in 2005.

The service has 10 exclusive hospital beds in a clinical ward served by multiple professionals (doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, speech-language pathologists and audiologists, psychologists, social workers, etc.), with an occupancy rate higher than 90% and an average length of stay of one week (with exception to the long-term stay beds). It also has well-established clinical, care and administrative protocols and provides permanent training of staff through continuing education courses.
